Welcome to Uzbekistan Travel Journal.
Uzbekistan,officially the Republic of Uzbekistan,is a country in Central Asia. It lies between two major rivers, the Syr Darya and the Amu Darya,and is surrounded by five landlocked country. There are a lot of traditional and historical architecture in Khiva,Samarkand,Bukhara and Tashkent and so on.
Tashkent(Toshkent) is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan.The capital is near the border with Kazakhstan.

Speaking of Uzbekistan,what do you think? I didn't know anything until traveling there.
In ancient times,this country was thriving in " Silk Road" : Connecting China and Europe. Historical cities that flourish as a stopping-point of Silk Road were dotted in Uzbekistan.
In these Oasis cities,so many splendor mosques and theological schools even now remain.

Cities

Samarkand

Samarkand (Samarqand in Uzbek) is as a city in southeastern Uzbekistan and one of the oldest cities in Central Asia. It is said that Zanarkand from "Final Fantasy X" is modelled after Samarkand. This city is referred to as "The Blue CIty" or "The Gem of the East".

Khiva

Khiva was the first registered World Heritage Site in Uzbekistan.
This city is drawing attention almost the same Samarkand and Bukhara. Ichan Kala,the old town of Khiva, is known as magnificent historic building. It is not a big city, so it takes only one day you can walk about there.

Bukhara

Bukhara is one of the oldest cities of Central Asia. The old town was registered World Heritage Site as Bukhara historic area in 1993. Precious structures,for instance,Kalyan minaret,Ismail Samani Mausoleum and Ark Fortress are seen here and there.

Shvit Osh

Osh tastes delicious in summer because it is cold.Tomato source on greem noodles with herb. This source is filled with plenty of vegetables.It tastes better with yogurt.
You can enjoy Uzbekistan's original dish with fresh herbal flavor and a variety of ingredients.

Naan

Many Uzbek people eat Naan about the same rice. One of the most features is a round shape different from Indian Naan. The thickness and taste are differ with areas. It is said that Samarkand Naan is the most delicious.

Pilaf

Pilaf is traditional food and main dish with carrots,onions,meats,beans and so on.
Pilaf is a strong flavor and oily. So,it is so good to eat with vegetables.

World Heritage

Ichan Kala

Ichan Kala is the walled inner town of the city of Khiva.

Ark Fortress

Ark Fortress is located in Bukhara.
The ark Citadel is the most ancient archeological complex of Bukhara.

Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble

Shah-i-Zinda Ensemble is in the north-eastern part of Samarkand and a holy place.
